This Super Clinic will introduce participants to three different forms of martial arts available in the Launceston area.
Aikikai Aikido is the modern form of traditional Japanese martial art and techniques. It features a wide range of ‘empty’ handed and armed techniques whilst being non-competitive and open to all. This is the perfect session for allowing each participant to discover their own natural spirit and understanding through training.
Wing Chun Kung Fu is a Traditional but modern self defence system based on scientifically proven principles and human bio-mechanics. It is the only martial art in existence created by a woman and does not place emphasis on size, strength or athletic ability. It is ideal for women and children or anyone interested in learning self defence for real life situations against single and multiple attackers. Traditional Wing Chun is often found in many police and military defence programs including the US Navy SEALS.
Judo is best known for it’s spectacular throwing techniques but also involves considerable grappling on the ground utilising specialized pins, control holds, arm locks, and Judo choking techniques. Judo emphasises safety, and full physical activity for top conditioning. Judo is learned on special mats and will be hosted in the Unigym Dojo for this very reason. It is a fun sport, an art, a discipline, a recreational or social activity, a fitness program, a means of self-defense or combat, and a way of life.
